My Philosophy

Decorative

Mental health care cannot be rushed.

My goal is to deeply understand your story, consider your strengths, and help you effectively use them to improve your life. This takes time. Most modern mental health models overbook doctors and therapists with short visits and long waits between appointments. I refuse that approach.

Medication can help.

While prescription medications are not always required, I do prescribe them when indicated. Expect a thorough explanation of risks and benefits with each decision, and empathy around managing doses, side effects, or choices to discontinue medications when desired.

Everyone deserves quality care.

I recognize the suffering caused by the field of psychiatry historically, especially toward minority populations. I strive to continuously improve my own cultural competence and empower my patients to live bravely in a world that may not be accepting or kind. My practice is a safe space for patients of all genders, sexualities and ethnicities.
